 Education Sessions                 

Initial Appointment:

  • Assessment and evaluation of individual educational needs
  •  Education presented on diabetes basics including nutrition, exercise, self-monitoring of blood glucose and medications
  • This session is approximately 60 to 90 minutes.

Follow-up Appointment(s):

  • Reassessment and evaluation of progress from initial appointment
  • Continuing education on staying healthy with diabetes and reaching desired goals
  • This session is approximately 30-60 minutes
  •  

Newly diagnosed:

  • Individuals new to diabetes would benefit from comprehensive education through group sessions or individual appointments
  • Group diabetes education consist of three, 90 minutes sessions, covering all aspects of diabetes self-management
  • Recommended individual appointments include three appointments with the dietitian and three appointments with the nurse educator
