Statement:
My job as an educator is to help people access their health through nutrition. For each person, this is a process of not only helping them understand their nutritional needs, but also in helping them understand the behaviors around eating that make or break their success at permanent lifestyle changes.
Chris has been involved in nutrition education and counseling for 30 years. She was the senior Clinical RD at McKee Medical Center in Loveland, CO for 21 years, where she developed a large out-patient nutrition counseling service. She has utilized and been an advocate for the use of the non-diet approach in all aspects of nutrition counseling. Presently, she is in private practice. In her practice, Partners in Nutrition, LLC she specializes in the individual nutritional treatment of people with eating disorders and dieting/weight issues. She graduated from Colorado State University in 1975, did graduate work at the University of Iowa in intensive nutrition counseling, completed a 12 month trainee-ship at the VA Hospital in Denver and is a Certified Diabetes Educator. She has served on the Executive board of the Colorado Dietetic Association and has been president of Northern Colorado Dietetic Association twice. In 2001 the Loveland Chamber of Commerce honored Chris with the first ever “Heart Award. She also has been awarded the Colorado Dietetic Association ‘Outstanding Dietitian of the Year’ in the 2001.
